So, reporting about D-Day, when Americans still fought fascists instead of voting them into the White House, is now a bannable offense or what?

I am wondering how long it will be until Indiana Jones is considered a bad guy for fighting nazis

1 yearAnd quite rightly, we should not praise our grandfathers or honour their sacrifices. How appalling of them to lay their lives down for their children, I’m disgusted by them.

That women’s stuff community that you helped promote already has some jackass commenting about it being “pointlessly gendered”. Meanwhile ‘Dull Gentleman’s Club’ doesn’t get the same treatment for some strange reason, I wonder why. Honestly this is one case where I hope the moderators do a little power tripping so that these kinds of communities can actually take off without the usual suspects dropping by to shit on them.

The notallmen crowd on Lemmy are frankly as big of a problem as early Reddit. And I think it’d need a dedicated instance willing to site ban folks and take other admins to task to see change.

Men have had a very rough go of it for…just recently! Help, help, I’m being oppressed!

1 yearDon’t worry I’m on it, I check every comment. Thankfully the vast majority of comments from men have been brilliant. They voice their support and respectfully leave.
Looks like they’re building their own site, it’s not live yet but they have a waitlist.

The question mark won’t matter. It detected the word “fight” and that’s all the removal was based on.
So is this a bot or AI scanning for these statements or is it snowflake conservatives crawling all over the site and reporting anything remotely disagreeable to them?

What does the commenter mean then? How do you fight with a broom without violence?
NOT_RICK@lemmy.worldEnglish
1 yearIt’s a metaphor. You use brooms to sweep out the trash. If you’re going to assault someone a broom isn’t a great weapon.

We are getting close to the day when fascist will need to be deposed or they will start killing us.
Use of violence is inherent to any fascist regime, it is a matter of time before they come for you.
Only one side cares about “inciting violence” and it’s the only side that has actual need of it.
Until the left accepts that violence IS the answer sometimes, we will always be massacred.

Apparently that sort of thinking makes you a teenager with no world experience. At least that’s what I’ve been told I sound like.
The moral high road is filled with corpses.

1 yearNow that you mention it, yeah. Still not violent, that’s a means of transportation!

I’m very familiar with this community—they should migrate over here.
They’re witches. Of all different types of craft. A broom is something a witch rides or flies on in popular culture.
It’s saying that witches can survive against fascism if they band together in their covens and use their witchcraft.
Or, more simply, if they stand together in their faith then they will survive together.
Witches don’t actually fly on broomsticks or hit people with broomsticks. They’re just normal people. It’s slightly in jest.

I don’t like my witch unless she is carrying a giant broomstick and wants to “hit” me with it. It’s just more sexy that way.
