I’d prefer an icon of a toilet.
Usually they’re not dead when that happens. I personally have never had that happen in any of my codes but all my people are connected to continuous cardiac monitoring so I generally know what’s happening before I even see them.
And they’ll stay dead if all you do is CPR. CPR alone is closer to necrophilia than necromancy.
CPR doesn’t bring a decompensated body back to life. You gotta figure out the problem in order to do that and fix it. That’s what the algorithms we use in a code is for (as opposed to the algorithms you guys code). That’s the real esoteric necromancy. Epi, bicarb, epi.

Let me rephrase: most farmers I know could build a two stroke from parts

Farmers can build a two stroke from parts.

Him reinstating posts that he believes the admins are blocking without actual reason does not mean that the admins had a legitimate reason to block them in the first place. You can argue that the admins blocking him was a forgone conclusion but accusing him of lying is a bridge too far.
The notallmen crowd on Lemmy are frankly as big of a problem as early Reddit. And I think it’d need a dedicated instance willing to site ban folks and take other admins to task to see change.
We did have a dedicated witchy community here. I guess they died out.
If you think giving Bezos money to fly a flag is praxis and boycotting isn’t, I don’t really know what to tell you.
I’m sure we have some competent silk screeners here in lemmyland.
Boycott Amazon. Thiel sold his PayPal shares so he shouldn’t have a significant stake in eBay anymore so I don’t know if they’re worth boycotting.

There are lurkers but many of the active commenters are frankly just more active in voting and commenting. Lemmy has much more engagement than Reddit for commenters because it’s a small community and the way comments are default sorted. You don’t need to make a comment early to end up on the top of the thread. You just need to get about two up votes and it’ll put you at the top. If what you said is worthwhile then you’ll get a lot more after that
Edit: one of the benefits of this is it encourages high quality late comments. On Reddit those would largely get ignored, but here engagement like that is encouraged.

Hey, it’s perfectly possible to create a catastrophic test environment. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollo_1
That Ubuntu unity article where the maintainer was a 10 year old when he started the project but now has shit to do is pretty funny.
