Reddit users are being targeted by a growing wave of sponsored scam ads impersonating major news organizations, including the BBC, the Financial Times, and The Guardian, according to new findings from Bitdefender Labs.
The campaign promotes fake AI-powered investment platforms such as Wencoin STX, Warrior Coin AI, and Nevo Coin, using fabricated celebrity endorsements, cloned news websites, fake interviews, and invented financial success stories to lure victims into depositing money.

Nobody’s going to point out this obvious shill with just one post?
Fuck Oracle. Fuck Larry Ellison. Fuck this fake OP.
How else is data pressure supposed to flow?
I mostly use standard libraries for colors, images, etc.
I basically switched to Julia for the VideoIO library because it saves so much time processing images into videos.
I would recommend Julia. I switched to Julia from Python because (IMO) it’s much faster and has better libraries.
For example, when I made videos with Python, I would have to save images and then convert to video with ffmpeg. But Julia has a library to generate videos on the fly without saving images. This is massively faster. They might have a library like this for Python now, but I’m not going back.
I don’t want to post any of my work because of anonymity, but it’s mostly animations of fractals, dynamic systems, etc.

4 monthsI’ll take a bot over a human shill any day. Bots are more obvious and less depressing.

4 monthsTry it, talk trash about aspartame on reddit, or roundup, or atrazine, or god forbid nuclear energy,
LOL I’ve been there! But I feel like the average redditor is too brainwashed to notice. People shill for free.

4 monthsYeah it’s kinda strange complaining about “AI” slop when the entire website is overrun with disinformation, propaganda, etc.

4 monthsCan “AI” slop really be so much worse than endless capitalist/state propaganda? Probably an improvement.

4 monthsSame goes for OpenAI, Oracle, Microsoft, Meta, X, USA, etc.

I agree that it’s foolish to hate tech per se. I think lots of people wind up promoting the grift of “AI” through misguided opposition.
But that’s not everybody in that comm. People hate “AI” for a variety of reason.
- 4 months
Grifter theory right there. Trying to retro-fit “AI” onto every past technology.
The point is that “AI” has never existed. It becomes more and more obvious as grifters pump out more and more fake “AI”.
- 4 months
Putting aside that “AI” doesn’t exist…
For whom is it useful for? For what?
Under capitalism “usefulness” often means the destruction of humanity and the planet.
Example: The Role of AI in Israel’s Genocidal Campaign Against Palestinians

Because “AI” doesn’t exist. Hating something that doesn’t exist is just playing into the grift.
- 4 months
Yes technology can be useful but that doesn’t make it “intelligent.”
Seriously why are people still promoting auto-complete as “AI” at this point in time? It’s laughable.
- 4 months
The quotes are because “AI” doesn’t exist. There are many programs and algorithms being used in a variety of way. But none of them are “intelligent”.
There is literally no intelligence in a climate model. It’s just data + statistics + compute. Please stop participating in the pseudo-scientific grift.

Actual AI doesn’t exist
FTFY.
- 4 months
There is no “AI”.
That deception is the main ingredient in the snake oil.

My organization used Oracle when I started but eventually phased it out. Good move.
