I hate all webdev beyond using raw HTML, CSS and Javascript to make your own crappy website

I use podman and have absolutely no idea what I am doing. Send help
Tbf, I also really don’t want to learn Rust. Overhyped dreck
It’s best not to touch anything web related, lest you want to go mad. It’s like the elder scrolls or laying eyes on some cosmic horror creature. Tbf this also goes for C++
Just have ChatGPT do it then. Not so sophisticated AI after all, huh?
How many exactly? I’d say less is better here.

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•Someone needs to be reminded that anticompetitive practices are illegal
2 yearsI’d singlehandedly bring down the car manufacturers in my country if I could. They have the strongest lobby in Germany for sure.

2 yearsNow imagine Microsoft banning the translation of DirectX to Vulkan. Could they do that? That would kill gaming on Linux in a snap.
I will name my firstborn ‘OOM killer’.

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•I don't believe Auto Save feature in any software
2 yearsI just can’t stand Kate showing me a little orange bar meaning I have not saved the changes yet. The bar must be green! I am a slave to the green bar. The white dot in vscode (I use an open source build) is a bit more tolerable, but whenever I notice it I HAVE to save the file.
But NVidia isn’t a barrier for wayland anymore.
I disagree. When I used it recently it was still very much subpar compared to the AMD experience. It’s usable, but not to the point that I would like to use it.

Good luck. I’m just paying $1 a month for my mail account. I like my solution to degoogle my mail more. Well to be fair, a lot of my mail still goes through google and then my new account since I haven’t updated my mail everywhere.

Lots of people recommending wordpress or smth. Kinda surprising to me. HTML + CSS can be incredibly fun to work with. Web development is such a huge mess I don’t ever want to touch because of the bazillion frameworks and tools. But doing the raw coding is super fun.
Pi 3b to run syncthing
Yeah, but worse cause it’s company owned and not really open source. Why do people use tailscale? Are you so desperate to pay money for it?

Reddit@lemmy.world•The new system to replace Reddit coins and awards is here. You got out at the right time.
3 yearsThe people are gonna love this as much as the Metaverse

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•If you want to host something on a Raspberry Pi, you should consider using literally any other piece of hardwareEnglish
3 yearsA lot more expensive tho. Eh, I use my Pi only for Syncthing anyways.

They have successfully circumvented the reboot. I just always turn that setting off. SSDs are ubiquitous, nobody needs a fake shutdown. It just causes more issues.
