I used RIF for the longest time and I just can’t with the official app. It’s already awful and if that’s what the website looks like now then the app will have a worse UI soon.

Apparently nylonfetish needs a mod. I feel like it’s your time to shine.

NGL I considered applying and then just not using reddit like I’m doing now if I was selected but as the mod of a small niche subreddit (which I’m not actually moderating, but also never needed to) I figured they would probably look at it and see the stickied post with the link to the Lemmy community I made and I ultimately decided it wasn’t worth the effort to try that troll.
That’s true, maybe they weren’t going for realism here lol
No I can’t tell who did but someone. Like, whatever, imaginary internet points. But it does tell me I’m in the minority in this one. I guess maybe my feelings on it stem somewhat from the political climate in the US with domestic terrorism getting more and more common and it just makes me feel a little skeevy. But I’m also obsessed with bunnies so maybe I’m just soft idk.
Yeah. I see I’m being downvoted but meh. I’m cool with the fuck spez stuff and I used to be on Reddit way too much so I’m feeling the loss too, but in the end it’s a website and the guillotine is just too much for me given what we’re upset about. It’s cool if other people feel differently about it but that’s how I feel.

“This 1 hour old account seems like the perfect mod.”
I’m not big on spez but this particular one is a little bit in poor taste to me.
But not if someone complains. We can’t do it if someone complains.

It took me a minute to acclimate to Lemmy and I tried browsing via the official app while I did so. Let me tell you, it was awful. I got over reddit about 2 days after RIF was gone.

I moderate a small niche community and the post where I linked to the Lemmy version of the sub is still up and the link works. I logged out and checked it to make sure it’s actually there and available. Are they doing this manually and focusing on larger subreddits?

I’m not saying that isn’t happening but it must be happening selectively because the small niche subreddit I moderate still has the post up where I announced and linked to the Lemmy community I made. I just went to the subreddit in my browser while logged out to verify that it’s not in the shadows, but I could see it.
They’re doing it in preparation for their new model where they pay content creators. If that doesn’t P.O. the rest of the remaining mods who work free I don’t know what will.

Mods can set a community so only mods can post in it. They can make that change and leave a message redirecting everyone to the other community to consolidate it.
I forgot about that but at the time I almost died because that was so real!
I do like your idea but that doesn’t mean I didn’t like Stray. I finished the entire game and I loved it. The cat was adorable, the friends I made a long the way were interesting and I really felt for them despite their, uh, limitations. Just leaving it at that to avoid spoilers as I only saw that it was a cute cat game before I tried it and enjoyed being surprised by how it ended up.
But yes, I do think a game like you’re describing would also be fun. Maybe not as a stray cat, per se, but maybe as a small breed of wild cat living away from humans so you don’t have too much interaction with them and they’re something you’re inherently distrustful of.
What is reddit HFY?
