why not use something web-based? there’s navidrome for self hosting, or plenty of other piracy(?) music streaming sites (which some aren’t sketchy, or safe enough to use with ublock origin)

I didn’t really like it on desktop, but it was pretty okay on a tablet (Surface Pro). Also ran really smoothly on my potato machine with Pentium 4, so I kinda get why some people miss it.

mostly yes. it can even be mostly mitigated without going WSL, since the anti-features can be mostly disabled through group policy and registry hacks.
