You are partially right. It sucks that the first 3 reviews are slop, but after that is mostly human stuff.

Also. You can use one of the third-party YouTube clients available for Linux to have more way to filter off content and ads (sadly It won’t filter off the Ai slop, at least for now). One of the most used is Piped.

Good idea thank you. 👍
So. I’ve received this old HP Pavililon pc
- Processor: Intel® Core™ i7-5500U CPU @ 2.40GHz 2.39 GHz
- RAM: 8,00 GB
- HD: 932 GB HDD HGST HTS541010A9E680
- Graphic: NVIDIA GeForce 940M (2 GB), Intel® HD Graphics 5500 (128 MB)
- Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160
- Synaptics SMBus TouchPad
I’ve updated and skin to the bone win 10 (fk 11). I’ll still keep some space for the old Granpa10 for some software but i’ll give a good chunk of space to a linux distro for my daily use.
My favorite one are Fedora and Linux Mint (I’m a noob, i know). I’ve already installed Fedora on older pc with mixed results (everything works great except the wifi antenna), also i’m not a huge fan of the slider interface, i want some windows10-like dark interface and a decent support for all my hardware and the mid nvidia graphic.
I would like a smooth installation if possible. So, what you suggest?

This is not only about gaming. If this low consume high performance sweety is actually affordable, 2026 could actually become the biggest year ever for Linux users. SteamOS is based on Arch Linux, and considering the power of the machine, editing should be more than doable. Now, i’m not too sure about the current compatibility/emulation of windows native software on linux, but with a substantial increase in desktop users, there could be some serious breakthrough, just like we already had with Proton for the games.
No bloat and satanic imagery? Count me in! 👍

They clean up AI shitty code?
I’m all in for discarding opinions. As long as who post them can argue in a civil maner, show souces and accept objective data.

Not Valve fault, but at this point i just feel lucky to have brought the Deck Oled before of all this ram shitshow.
