There are no stable releases, just a continual rolling build from the single bespoke server farm that can create releases
Such an abomination could be created. Just imagine all the over engineering that would be required.
It would run ANYTHING on ANY platform by incorporating every libc and assembler and VM and dynamic interpreter.
It runs on EVERY platform and thus it can be adequately tested on NO platform.

Reddit@lemmy.world•It would be really funny to have thousands of these all over Reddit, trolling Spez is just too much fun
3 yearsLemmy really needs filter words for times like these.
I’d also like to argue that they can’t talk about Reddit itself over there any more because of the pervasive manipulation and censorship so we should make space for that conversation over here.

3 yearsI think you are right about the normal users but I think they alienated a big percentage of top mods. I think the consequences of that are just starting to manifest.

Do you know something we don’t know? Are they secretly courting a private buyer instead of actually going for an IPO?
Not an advertiser but they generally know % of views (“impressions”) to clicks (called click through rate) and percentage of clicks that turn into sales (called conversion rate).
For that reason, I don’t think they’re trying to get rid of human users completely, just the “troublemakers”.
I think they want to lead the “silent majority” users into a bot advertorial content hellscape where they control all the levers of power and everything is for sale.

Reddit@lemmy.world•/r/AccidentalRenaissance moderators have all resigned. The subreddit has permanently shut down and moved to Lemmy.

Reddit@lemmy.world•Question: People who still frequent Reddit, has it gone back to business as usual or are the protests still having effect?
3 yearsSo far almost exclusively on nsfw specialized instances, with lemmynsfw.com being the largest.
Those in pursuit of pure science would probably be best served by creating an account directly on that instance

I know posting at all is a very recent addition (is it even out of beta?)
I assume crossposting just hasn’t been implemented yet
