If they can use the internet in Windows and in Linux… How is there any real difference to the end user?

They aren’t saying Linux doesn’t have advantages. They’re saying those differences don’t matter for what most people do.

Another example, playing games. There’s no advantage in playing a game in Linux over Windows, or vice versa.

Which is when I just do it I tell them afterward. I build it into my estimates so it doesn’t put us behind.

There are still a few cans that get kicked down the road though, for various reasons.

My PM doesn’t tell me to do anything. Their job is to prioritize things on the backlog and give status updates. Very, very rarely do they tell me that whatever I’m working on no longer needs to be done at all.

Generally speaking, if I do get an interruption, it’s from the person above the Project Manager. And they’re more of the “shit hit the fan” variety of problems that need to be resolved.

Sorry, best they can do is stop in the middle of the road with the blinker on.

Our organization has perfected file naming. When something doesn’t belong in a specific area, it goes into the file named Misc. When that got too big, Misc2 was created.

I did not understand why Facebook stock took off and I don’t understand why this one did either.

I do it better and just don’t use reddit. They fucked their platform. Let them stew in it.

No offense, but what career did he invent exactly? Not like he made solar wind farming a thing. He made a website. Like countless others. Now, he made a unique website, but it’s the same career as countless others.

VIM really does have everything. Even a fully functional internet browser. 🙂

TBF to regex, it’s completely unreadable. I love the magic that can be done with it, but by God, it needs syntax highlighting. Something may do this, but I’ve never seen anything that does.
