There’s more to Linux than arch. Mint, along with many others, is just as easy to install as windows.

Make sure you go into the settings and turn everything off. It’ll run in the background and do God knows what even though you’ve turned off startup.
They don’t need to be experts but they should be able to recognize bad advice at the very least so they can remove it.
In my experience these are the users who are the most independent and it always makes me feel bad when they have a silly issue so I try telling them how dumb users can really get.
