They are easy and effective
The biggest problem with this atleast for me is that I see people with decades of experience who still have awful taste.
They ran into an issue, learned either nothing Or the wrong thing from it and moved on.
Oh come on man.

I think the change in 150hr to 50hr probably had a large impact on this study as well. I’m not sure why that’s not more focused on.

It’s really not though. If you think it is I really suggest to re-think your perspective on what maintainable shippable code looks like. It’s basically automating copying from stack overflow. There’s so many little considerations that come into development.

Gunna be honest, if you really feel that way you’d fire the vibe coder. I don’t give a shit if it’s broken ifs due to the negligence of management and other employees.
Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine. And ofc this varies based on the service as all things do. But it’s rarely important enough that I’d stay over. Like if lives where at risk or it’s a “bring the company down but” maybe I’d stay. But there would be hell to pay for whoever broke it later. Either that or the company would loose me as an employee

Do NOT under any circumstances fix it. The other guy needs to and you need to be clear he broke it and how

What a small world! I made a TOR P2P messaging app using symmetric encryption as a POC in college! I was just getting around to re implementing it into something more polished!
Not sure if I have a reason too now!
Old college app, new project doesn’t have much progress

It’s not. That’s the problem. It actually sucks ass. It’s super low quality for anything more complex they s very simple CRUD app or a simple function. I say this as someone who s a heavy LLM user. It’s just bad code. It makes all kinds of simple mistakes. Just because code compiles doesn’t mean it’s good or does what you need it to do
Need to add illegal gambling to the list
I feel like people over estimate how effective LLMs actually are. Alot of the slop bros are unreliable narrators. Alot of their shit isn’t finished or never really worked in the first place.
LLMs just steal large swaths of code from their training data with light composition. That’s why it fails if you try and do anything remotely novel or specific.
They are just casinos for stack overflow posts.
The models for bigger = they can store more data.
I’ll give them that LLMs have some very minor intelligence but it’s minor.
People equate speed with quality all the time. Management thinks that just because they get code faster it’s better for long term company profits.
What they don’t realize is they code they are getting is completely unmaintainable and they’ll hit a wall in a year or two once the LLM has churned the code base into a spaghettied mess.
I just hope people in charge of critical infrastructure know better.
I can’t imagine dying because some medical equipment I’m using fails because of LLM slop.
Opus 4.6 Gemini 3 pro
Name em Ive tried em. Its all so sub par for anything beyond a one off script.
People have the impression they should be outputting 10x with them so they abuse them into doing more “thinking” Then they should.
Edit: it’s fucked the work culture more then it already was fucked when it comes to what defines software quality and expertise
I use it at work because my colleagues only use it so it’s the only way I can deal with the LLM slop without total killing myself. And it’s horrendously bad still. I fucking hate it. Makes the worst fucking decisions.
I’m considering a career change honestly. I can’t stand this shit anymore.

I’ve never seen LLM produced software that actually does what it’s supposed to. All this stupid crud slopware they are shoveling out produces no value and rarely works

It still can’t to math or arithmetic, they have it set up so it will use tools like Wolfram or just straight python for calculation.
By their very nature they suck ass at math
