Zachery Ty Bryan is headed to jail for 16 months stemming from a 2024 DUI arrest – and this time, he’s not walking away with probation.
I’d never heard of it either before deed diving on this, and I’m thankful i hadn’t heard of it. Ugh. Fuck AI.
CISA flagged two Roundcube Webmail vulnerabilities as actively exploited in attacks and ordered U.S. federal agencies to patch them within three weeks.

the article isn’t about scripts you wrote yourself. run your own scripts all you like.
the difference though is you can check a script. if it’s an open source project, you can also compile from source. but I get what you mean
it’s exactly the same. Don’t run binaries you don’t trust fully. But i get what you mean. miley_cyrus_nude.jpg.exe is probably gonna end badly.
I have no problems with running scripts from the internet, AFTER you check them. Do NOT blindly run a script you found on the internet. As others have said download them, then check them, then and only then run them if they’re safe. NEVER pipe to bash, ever.
you’d have to be mad to willingly pipe a script to bash without checking it. holy shit
For anyone interested, I rolled my own solution with bash scripts and rclone. it works well enough.
oh, i see. Do you have any suggestions for another backup tool? I tried kopia, but couldn’t figure it out.
ETA: I should note, this is on a pi without a GUI.
Duplicati never completes a back up to ANY service (that I’ve tried). I set up the back up, then click run, and it will upload for maybe 1-2 minutes, then it just… stops. I have tried with large backups, and again with smaller backups. Does it work for anyone else? I have tried different cloud storage services, such as filen and google drive, and it just never finishes. Am i doing something wrong here?
TIA

there’s also the fact that for a fair number of years, macs were also PCs

A word of caution though: you will go to that page and wish you had more resources to run more and more lol
