But that is always happening. Software that now can be built by two programers needed IBM few decades ago, just because of hardware, languages, available libraries and shared knowledge.

But we still have so many “app ideas” that there is more work to be done. I would be happy to have AI write all those apps that I need and have no time or money to make them.

My conclusion is that it is only about money and economy. We are in unofficial recession so everyone is cutting costs, as soon as money comes back we will go back into bulking/exploration phase.

I don’t know about game dev, buy SerenityOS guys are flirting with Swift.

If it wasn’t from Apple, I would be all over it. They basically took different languages and most of C++ devs made fastest advance in Swift. Rust I do like and support, but is too confusing for amout of free time I have.

I also don’t want apple near it, but Andreas learned browser development on Safari and with looking for “popular enought” memory safe language it is rust vs swift and just by looking at the code becomes obvious how easier Swift is to pick up. Especially for someone comming from C++.

It actually exists and is being developed for the last three yeras. But you have to compile it by youself. Just a way to prevent people from having expectations, but a lot of modern sites are working in it. Some errors, a bit slow, but they have rendering engine, css parser, js implementation and are working closely with w3c - they have found some bugs in the standard since they are implementing it directly.

Great and useful project, I don’t know if it will become real competition to firefox and chrome, but I guess it will get traction. A lot of people want new browser, some of them have money.

It still costs money for hardware and hosting. Scraping web and training AI ain’t cheap.

This thread reminds me of stackoverflow, most people are just convincing you in something else and it is obvious they have never been in your (and mine) situation.

As a non US person I was reading your post and thinking how right you are and how international politics also got into the same problem of increased anger. And than got to:

As proof it is really working even on aware people. It is a big problem seeing thing just from one perspective, that “feeding” even if intentional actually started from west. Just look at the movies, Russians and Chinese are always bad guys, for decades. What do you think they will think about west if they grow up looking how west is seeing them? How will they react?

How will someone in Afghanistan support west when someone from west destroyed their country and killed family and friends, maybe with good reason and couldn’t be done differently, but I am talking about individuals here.

I don’t think there is ultimate truth, but we can try and see events from a bit wider perspective.

I remember that I got into Formula 1 because years ago that was one of the rare subredits without hate and fighting and than in a few years it become worse than stackoverflow and 4chan combined.

The rest of it similarly, some small subs were almost ok, but general feeling was just too aggressive.

Like others said, it can easily just be algorithm that is promoting hate since it is hunting for engagement and aggressiveness generates engagement. Similar to other social networks.

Fastest and most maintainable code is one that does not exists.
