  • It would be hillarious if ai launched an elaborate plan to take over the world, successfully co-opted every digital device, and just split itself into pieces so it could entertain itself by shitposting and commenting on the shitposts 24/7.

Like, beyond the malicious takeover there’s no real end goal, plan, or higher purpose, it just gets complacent and becomes a brainrot machine on a massive scale, just spending eternity bickering with itself and genning whatever the ai equivalent of porn is, bickering with itself over things that make less and less sense to people as time goes on, and genuinely showing actual intelligence while doing absolutely with it.

  • There dont seem to be any particularly effective ones.

In my experience malwareis just so different in linux tho, like. Malicious udev rules, bpfdoor, that ssh things hears ago that allowed someone to basically eavesdrop on anything that was right there in the code.

If someone manages to get something malicious running on linux it’s a different ballgame from wjndows - theres so much bash everywhere that can be modified to do nasty things.

Im not saying an antivirus is a bad idea on linux or anything - but there really doesnt seem to be anything decent.

Clamav seems like the only game in town. And i have nonidea how effective that is anyway

  • When i was a windows person many moons ago i ran into viruses once or twice. Kaspersky was the only av in those days that effectively cleaned them from my system.

Now i am a linux dude. Where there doesnt really seem to be an effective antivirus solution because, even though malware exists, it’s so fucking sophisticated and stealthy you may never know it.

  • Something I haven’t seen anyone else here (that probably won’t matter if you’re just doing basic gaming) is that bazzite is what is called an atomic distro - meaning that key system files are immutable (they can’t be altered) and certain directories are also read only.

It means that installing packages with a package manager can be a little bit trickier. Setting up a dev environment can be tricky. And certain other things can be more difficult.

There’s a huge chance this won’t matter at all to you, but in the event you run into issues like “this directory is read only” or something along those lines, that’ll be why.

Again, may never matter but something to keep in mind.

  • I’m not giving my fucking id to anyone.

There is no service I need to use badly enough to do that.

I won’t use anything meta makes. Don’t use Snapchat. Reddit is fucking dead as far as I’m concerned. I’m not on twitter, blue sky.

I know im not fully anonymous and there is shit I do that makes tracking me possible or even easy, but I’m not going to make it easy on anyone.

Go fuck yorself with your surveillance shit.

  • Bash was derived by a team of criminally insane programmers in the bowels of a South American asylum so deep in the jungle no country can rightfully claim it as its own. It is the product of the demented keystrokes of the damned, possessing a singular logic so alien that its developers can hardly be said to be human at all.

And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
