It is crazy that I can have a core 2 duo with 8 gig of RAM that struggles loading web pages
Yeah might be the IP range of the provide. Also sometimes it stops working till you update. But I expect the hetzner IP range has more than one self hosted instance on it so probably gets tagged for the whole range.
Not even running your own? Once you get past the Docker config you can have your own endpoint. Mine has never had any issues. As far as I understand it looks just like you yourself using the various sourced services, which it is.
AI generation aside, not a bad list. I’d add searxng, and, opnsense/pfsense is really awesome to have with pfblocker, and then wireguard so you get all the benefits on the go.
Pico…I’m going the wrong direction

4 monthsThis is the way. Quite secure and private. It is not complicated to set up, just have to get the keys and copy them in the right places (and protect the private keys) and do the forwarding to a VPN endpoint on your network.
Oh…it’s you.
Djbdns was excellent too, and ezmlm,.in fact all DJB’s software was quality for its single purpose. The world moved on though, and you had to have your basic Internet servers just…do more

I can’t imagine why you need 32gb for opnsense. I can run it on a single core and 1gb, unless I literally want every DNS blacklist loaded in which case 4gb
Ive had no problem in years from the FreeBSD pkg. Wonder what is causing so much trouble.

Not quite a server, but Total Annihilation. Awesome times. Not sure if supreme commander does it too.
Searxng. Just use a private instance.

7 monthsThe only real usability issue I’ve had is auto cataloging. It isnt right much of the time. But I don’t have any remote users that don’t have network access so that simplifies things a whole lot.

7 monthsYeah hell to the naww. They’re also probably tracking all your viewing habits and monetizing that data, they’d be foolish not to with that kind of access.

7 monthsYou are entirely entitled to do whatever you want, but for me I go into a towering rage when something I own is taken over for someone else’s ads.
