What level of emulation are you trying to do, cause you can do most emulation for a lot less than $1000.

Audiobookshelf, Its designed for audiobooks and its folder structure is unintuitive, but it’s got the best website and apps of all the ones I’ve tried (including kogma).

I messed around with a couple of different approaches (Calibre web, kogma, etc.), but the best all around experience I have had is Audiobookshelf. Kogma is probably better if just doing manga, but Audiobookshelf has worked the best for hosting comics/manga/ebooks. The only real annoying things is the folder structure. I’ve needed to use some scripts to reorganize/rename files so it handles them correctly.

Basic ebook support and ereader (epub, pdf, cbr, cbz) + send to device (i.e. Kindle)

Biggest issue is the folder/book structure is very opinionated and isn’t the easiest to work with.

I’ve tried the a number of the ones being mentioned, but the best for me has been Audio bookshelf . It has a good mobile app, allows collections, tries to pull Metadata, offline reading for the apps, etc.

Anyone know what my hardware would show as if I play on my phone using something like GameNative or Gamehub? Curious what the android/arm numbers would be.

You can track/identify people in range of a wifi router based on how the wifi signal is disrupted.

I believe that the original people claimed you could ID individual people using their approach, but I suspect that’s under ideal conditions and/or with some training against individual people.

Calibre is just bad software at this point, it’s clunky and not really designed as a server.

Kogma was fine, but a web only interface made it hit or miss. The big selling point for me with audio bookshelf was the ability to download local copies.

You can read using the web client or dedicated apps (android and ios). I feel like the clients work just as good if not better than similar software.

I haven’t tested how it handles two versions (audio/ebook) of the same book, but I have ebooks and audio books and it works well for me.

The only real downside I’ve run into is it’s very opinionated about folder structures around authors.

The one I’ve enjoyed the most is https://www.audiobookshelf.org/, it may be “focused” on audio books, but works really well for everything. It also supports offline mode (meaning downloading local copies in the app).

I had someone swear to me that Github templating was better, but I’ve only worked with Gitlabs templates. Why do you like Gitlab over Github?

My point was the investment in vs the value out may not be worth it for many projects. Beyond that, it may not be maintainable for all projects (at least with how fast things have been changing in this space and the heavy reliance on 3rd party systems to make it work).

While you’re right that it’s a new technology and not everyone is using it right, if it requires all of that setup and infrastructure to work then are we sure it provides a material benefit. Most projects never get that kind of attention at all, to require it for AI integration means that currently it may be more work than it’s worth.

Object Relational Mapping can be helpful when dealing with larger codebases/complex databases for simply creating a more programmatic way of interacting with your data.

I can’t say it is always worth it, nor does it always make things simpler, but it can help.

The only real options for the average user are Mac or Windows. Linux just isn’t as user friendly, and a lot of the customization and flexibility of Linux is actually a determinant for non technical people.

I’m a technical person and I can’t stand Linux as a main driver. Love it for development and as a server, but it can be very janky for UI things.

I can’t speak for this specific approach/system, but no. LLMs never really guarantee anything, and for translation roles like this, it’s hard to say how much help they provide. The main issue being that you now have to understand what the LLM generated before you can start fixing it and/or debugging it.

That would be the easiest path in my opinion. It’s great Linux exists and I use it extensively, but it’s still not as user friendly as Windows and Mac.

I’d also say that nowadays, Linux will work out of the box, but it’s not uncommon for some little things to not work correctly (accessories like docks, cameras, etc. may not work out of the box or at all).

Actually, what is weird is WSL apparently ran faster for some things like SSL and some Python Scripting.

But yeah, overhead costs will make WSL slower in almost all cases.

You can us ssh to open up a vscode instance that is pointed at/running on another machine. But I don’t know if that works with the Web version.
