I’ve seen headlines over and over recently claiming that the death toll in Gaza from the recent escalation was being reported lower than the actual numbers. So I’m kinda confused.

Is there any reason Hamas would intentionally underreport the death toll? I can’t think of anything that would make sense. But I should probably point out that the claim that the actual number is higher did not come from Hamas.
