Linux@programming.dev•The Linux Kernel Hit A Decade Low In 2024 For The Number Of New Commits Per YearEnglish
1 yearthe narrative shaping in american media is so disgusting; they won’t even question whether or not my government’s expanded export controls in kicking out some of its most prolific contributors simply because they’re russian is a factor and cover it up by counting the number of lines added.
what happens next year or the year after that? are the same contributors expect to keep working at the same scale they’re doing now? the youngest ones are in their 40’s and paid exorbitantly well; what happens when they retire? do we all just switch to bsd?
reddit has taught me not to bother and lemmy has taught me why.
i mean it: enjoy your bots.
dead internet is a thing on social media platforms with significant financial or gov’t backing like reddit, twitter, .world & .ee

Everytime I see stories of people forced to fight wars like this and the other post of Ukrainian recruiters hunting for young men in movie theaters; bars & clubs; and pulling over cars on the road and also read about them turning into shut-ins to escape the Ukrainian draft I wonder what I would do in such a situation knowing that this needless war was fomented by my government.
I doubt that there’s anything I could do since the American empire’s reach is so vast that it can fight this war; while simultaneously arming a genocide & war w Israel; and trying to start a 3rd war in Georgia all at the same time.
watch out for your battery.
i don’t do proxmox; but i do a lot of virtualization through kvm/qemu on my own laptop and the battery can take a beating if you don’t mitigate it somehow. i’ve had this laptop less than 6 months and the battery condition is already at 67%.
i’m lucky in that i got this laptop from a linux company so i can can order replacement batteries; but most people don’t (willingly) have this luxury anymore.
this was true 20 years ago so your mileage is absolutely going to vary today; but it worked for me:
- if you haven’t graduated: intern
- if you have graduated: contract
I loved the building, but I find the other half of the gameplay quite boring.
i would spend hours using cheats to create the perfect house for the sims family and then lose interest within 30 minutes of letting the family do its thing.
i would rinse and repeat with each house becoming more elaborate and strange each time; they should make a game that focuses on that aspect of it more

i had a similar setup when i worked at a NOC.
thank god i never intended to have children. lol
