Stop acting like a redditor.
Thirded, that was my immediate thought.
Whys that? Stability has improved the last few years, and the value cant be beat with UDM pro and even their lowest cost camera options.
They are an excellent value next to most other otpions if youve ever actually implemented more than one solution.

Thye offer a separate version without the ad platform with tracking baked in?

How about a link to the polls directly?
What time of day? how long was the poll up?
This is not a well done poll based on the (lack of) details about it. This is just an arbitrary survey of a small microcosm of users. Making statements like ‘25%’ of Lemmy users are using Sync based on this poll, true or not, is a false conclusion from a limited data set.
/waves poor statstical probabilities around like an old man cane

I’d pay 5ish bucks like I did for RIF, but for now ill just donate to Liftoff or other open dev without ad injection needs. Id rather buy Sync outright for a few bucks than have yet another ad platformed app running.

What general community on what instance?
There is no way this poll provides a realistic sentiment thats anything but a pulled out of thin air guess.
Does the poll verbiage differentiate if I have Sync but use Liftoff far more at the moment?
I got more spam Feb-June of this year on Reddit that I did in the previous 15 years. It was almost 100% only fans spam accounts too.
Sysadmin, certain IT related subs, and my local city sub, are all still ‘useful’ subs in some way or another just due to sheer population still over there, at least until we have a larger mass adoption over here.
Based on your shared view, why would you even sub to this LW community? Just cut the cord fully if that’s your preference.

If CmdrTaco still owned and ran Slashdot, I’d be over there today.

16 years. No RIF equates to no Reddit for the most part for me. Haven’t really ‘left’ formally or permanently, but spend more time here day to day now, its almost the same pattern for how Digg just kind of evaporated from use off over a few weeks as I used Reddit more and more daily.

Was it really ‘acquired’ as much as ‘directed to be merged by Ycombinator investors’? Seems fair to add him as a co-founder since the merger became a new organziation “Not a Bug”, and without him the site wouldn’t exist in a state that allowed it grow quickly when the time came for Not a Bug to get bought out by Conde Nast in 2006…
Do any of these apps for Android offer a RIF style interface layout that doesnt feel like scrolling on the generic reddit app?
No ma’am, this is a Wendys drive thru.
But really, I think you misunderstood the intended inference from OP, it has nothing to do with email and everything to do with data collection, algorithms, and not quite fair use media access that get’s logged to Google (a third party) ad infinitum.
