Reddit@lemmy.world•If I go on the reddit website and scroll through posts without doing anything else, would that affect Reddit's ad revenue, or is it insignificant to Reddit?
3 yearsYour comment is spot on, and it’s what led me to ultimately cutting bait entirely, after 12 years of heavy daily use: it’s never coming back to what I remember it as.
Reddit is certainly not going to die anything – the website itself will likely be around 10 years from now – but it won’t be the reddit I remember or loved. So I moved on. I toyed around with Squabbles for awhile but this feels much more like the reddit experience I’m looking for.

Reddit@lemmy.world•Twitter launching what looks like a reddit competitor on the same day third party apps shut downEnglish
3 yearsLook at that, spez’s idol being opportunistic against him. Dumbass.
I’ve had it for years, I don’t even know when at this point.
It must have been my most-used app week after week, year after year, phone after phone.
That dev will never see this post, and I’m just one person, but that app made my mundane little life demonstrably better. A little bit better each day.

They can’t even do bullshit PR correctly. You do the listening tour before the steady stream of unpopular decisions that go against the feedback you just collected.
