what do you even mean? Drew is the creator of wlroots and Sway. He literally jump-starts the adoption of Wayland in linux.

Hyprland is not very stable and is constantly requiring updates.
That’s why for now it is only distributed in unstable repo, I guess.
Anyway, I’ll stick to the plain and simple Sway.

Yeah, at least give you argument so I can also laugh at myself too.
Anyway, take a look at this article that just came out just earlier, which means that by no chance it’s been referenced when I wtote my earlier comment. And do take note of the BOLD words.
The Core unit is responsible for building the technical foundation behind the company’s flagship products and for protecting users’ online safety, according to Google’s website. Core teams include key technical units from information technology, its Python developer team, technical infrastructure, security foundation, app platforms, core developers, and various engineering roles.

It’s going to be more expensive to hire and train new people when the dumdums in upper management finally figure out the mistakes
Unfortunately that’s not the case. Those who have been laid off are those paid high salaries to build up the foundation. Now that the foundation is already there, they future work won’t be as complex as before and need less training. So why would they still pay the very high salaries? They’ll just get rid of the used-to-be-important programmers and hire the can-be-hired-for-a-lot-less programmers from India. It’s sad, but that’s the reality.
discord. but the slots were offered during the early days.
most probably ip or MAC address.

Yep. I encountered this. My workaround was to use old apk and to unhide username and then update to new version. There’s another suggestion to use intent which is
a bit technical butless hassle.

And that was fine when you paid $3 for a lifetime unlock
This is where you got this all wrong. I only paid 99¢ for lifetime unlock.

Yeah, that’s typical of him. He went dormant for a long time during the first major version of Sync for Reddit, accumulating some quite critical bugs. But suddenly he came back with a new look of Reddit Sync, full of features, impressed me so much that I just let go of the past.
My hunch is, he would (try to) come out with the best app, and then move on to something (that we don’t know) so that he can support his life. Sync for lemmy is not enough to economically gain the critical mass for him to do that fulltime. But once awhile, he’ll be back to fix some critical bugs like what he did about a month ago for v0.19.
Yes he should do more and add more features. I myself only encounter non-critical bugs and don’t use Sync for mod, so I am still be satisfied with its current condition. Others surely have different requirements.

What critical bugs are we having right now?
I see Russia’s s need for survival the same way when Japan was sanctioned during WW2. Japan didn’t survive simply because they can’t sustain a long war, where they can’t replenish their resources fast enough.
For Russia to even survive, they need to find allies quickly so they can sustain in the long run. I think they see that in China. However Russia will need to stay dormant for quite sometimes, because they won’t be able to fight head-on against the backer of Europe, the US. Russia will simply lose. They need to passively maintaining their power while piggyback on China for support.
And rubble is worthless, no doubt about that. What they’ll do now is to rebuilt their East-based economy, by piling up large amount of reserve currency, such as Yuan. They have been trying to persuade other countries to do the same by reducing their dependency on the US Dollar. They others need to do that for their plan to work. It doesnt seem to work, at least for now.
Anyway what I found interesting is not about Russia but the emergence of India. India’s boldness to defy the call for Russia’s sanction and to take advantage of Russia’s desperation to sell their resources is simply brazen and unheard of. I think the Ukraine conflict has incidentally propel India as a serious emerging country, announcing that they have their own projected goals instead of being forced to choose side.
The EU will think now Russia is their enemy. But Russia is not even that powerful if we pull nuclear capability out of the equation. But their alliance with the East will be the real problem as it may accelerate the creation of a more powerful China and ironically revitalise the dying Russia, which in the end will actually strengthen them.
This is why The US/EU was not able to crumble Russian economy and stop their advance in Ukraine after the sanctions took place. The didn’t expect that China and surprisingly India, and Turkey (to some extent) will come to the rescue. Although Russia was definitely hit hard by the sanction, they manage to reverse the damages by redirecting their resources to the East instead. They have now formally change their policy to Looking/dealing East.
If your app crashed, read on. It’s been pointed up that the bug is due to the ‘hide username’ option. I manage to get around it by restoring earlier backup to the earlier version. To those that need a temporary fix, before the dev patch the update, here you go.
First, you need to uninstall the updated version and install the earlier version by using old apk (apkmirror). Then, restore the old backup. After that, need to unhide the account username, and make a new backup. Then, update the app to a new version and sign in, and restore with the backup. The new app will be good to go with the old setting (except the hide username option).
Update: thanks. that’s really the bug. I manage to get it working. First, I uninstall the updated version and install the earlier version by using old apk (apkmirror). Then I restore backup. After that need to unhide the account picker, and make a new backup. Then, update the app to a new version and sign in, and restore with the backup. The new app will be good to go with the old setting (except the hide username option).
yes, I have. That could be it.
it may not work as the data may have been changed by the updated app. but, you’ll be fine if you’ve made some backup. You can just delete all the data/cache and restore from the backup data after that. If haven’t made any backup, there’s no guarantee until you try.
try apkpure web, no malware found there as far as I know. Maybe you’ll need to install the apkpure app to install the apk. if that so, make sure you uninstall it once done.
apkmirror is also OK. Check there first before apkpure.

If you just need add-free feature why do you need to pay for monthly subscription? I thought for ad-free feature, we only need to pay for one-off payment.
