Canada has first-past-the-post voting and still resulted in a minority government this year.

In most multiparty systems, a party needs to hold a certain number of seats in Parliament in order to be in power. If no party has enough seats after an election, they attempt to form coalitions in order to get enough seats and form a government.

A party leaving the coalition means that it’ll no longer hold enough seats to have a majority. I dont know the specifics here, but they might be able to form a coalition with a different party, or require new elections.

Wait, the optimization does not leave the browser. There isn’t any need for a web server.

If this can be used as an offline PWA, it doesn’t even need to be ‘self-hosted’, except for keeping it up to date.

While I appreciate the sentiment, I do think that despite being well-intentioned this could just contribute to today’s digital illiteracy. It also downplays the app’s privacy, I almost dismissed it as a cloud service the moment I saw that.

Perhaps you could use “open” and “save”, which is widely understood and probably more appropriate.

That said, the app is a great initiative, and I’ll certainly give it a look once I get in front of a computer, and probably recommend it to students.

I’m confused, isn’t this running locally? Why are you using the words “upload” and “download”?

Because a prof showed them on the first class. But in any case, if logo designers are the only ones to notice, the logo fails its purpose.

It always pissed me off that they use this as an example of white space use. No one sees it.

If you do go this route, the best way is to make a fork of the main Umami github repository, then link that to railway. When you want to update, you can just sync new changes to the repo, and railway will rebuild your instance.

I’m running Umami on Railway (so not self-hosted), for two small websites. Works pretty well. I think Railway changed their pricing, but I’ve been grandfathered in with a free plan.

In your example, you are not playing only one game for 3 years without playing any other games.

I think the emphasis on the “planet” is that in their usual over-ambition, Hello Games announced that they’ll be simulating a full-scale planet. It then got through the media’s broken telephone.

Maybe my comment wasn’t clear, I meant the 0€ version. As in, those apps cost 0 money but aren’t “free”. Just an attempt to be snarky.

Maybe it’s to clarify that you still pay for those apps, but not with money.
