This breach was, in fact, very preventable. Plex didn’t need to force users to authenticate with a central server to access their own self-hosted media in the first place.

That, I disagree with. Doing something is better than doing nothing, banning X links still hurts.

Mods found out how much power they actually had when they capitulated as soon as reddit threatened to replace them reddit forced all subreddits open when the API debacle occurred.

I’ve seen way worse that doesn’t even result in a comment removal, let alone a whole subreddit getting banned.
