I do want to see this comm. I never said I didn’t, you two just have really bad reading comprehension.
likes anarchism, copyleft, piracy, drinking tea, photography, genAI, and watching nazis/zionists and anyone who doxxes people get shot in the neck. the only good imperialist is a dead imperialist, and tankies are imperialists too. all cops are fascists. liberals are nazi collaborators. the united states is a terrorist state. israel does not have any right to exist. palestine must be free.
any original art or software I post here is yours, just like anything you post is mine. I don’t respect copyright for anyone else, and don’t claim any for myself.

yup! if you just view your subscribed comms, you’re gonna miss out on new comms you might be interested in. I see subscriptions as more of a “bookmark” for comms I want to visit again and don’t want to search for.
because of that, my frontpage displays all popular posts across fedi, and my blocklist is full of comms I don’t want to see, such as those in other languages or ones that aren’t there for me. like those where only women are allowed to comment, or only trans folk. you gotta respect their desire to not be bothered.

thanks! happy to be here!

nah, fam, I’m good. I enjoy a comm shitting on reddit. but hey, since we’re being rude, why don’t you just shut the fuck up, asshole?

I’m not subscribed to this comm, it shows up on my front page along with any other popular posts around fedi.
nothing like being almost a year late with your news.

Well I use Unraid, so I just back up my whole config folder along with the OS itself in case I need to flash it to a new USB. In other words, I just clone the whole thing. It means I can be up and running in a few minutes if everything was corrupted.
A data drive loss is pretty simple too, I just simulate the lost data until I can get a new HDD in. That takes a little longer to fix tho.

In your opinion, why should someone use this over something like Obsidian, especially if they already use Obsidian for journaling?

Syncthing is nice, but it fills a different niche than copyparty. I run both, and copyparty is more useful for things you might want other people to use. For example, I have one that’s filled with anarchist memes that the dbzer0 folks on matrix can access. They can also upload memes to the meme stash.
if they managed to connect the mouse with no problems, then the issues lies with the keyboard and not with Bazzite. so maybe fucking think about that before coming in and being an elitist shit dick while plugging your own distro. if your first reaction to a beginner needing help is to gatekeep and be an asshole, maybe you could go even further and just not fucking post at all and spare the rest of us your attitude.

it’s called Gatekeeper, and you think it’s a project hosted on github for DDoSing people?

this is the selfhosting comm. I’m willing to bet that virtually ever person here who has a home server of some kind, has a reverse proxy or VPN set up that they could access Jellyfin from.

what about it? anyone who hosts a Jellyfin server probably already has a reverse proxy set up. if not, then that is another 2min setup required, if you don’t know what you’re doing.

it’s not a hassle. just add a reverse proxy and you’re set. the setup for that takes less time than setting up Jellyfin.

I dunno what you were doing wrong, but Jellyfin is a strong alternative to Plex that has feature parity. The only reason to use Plex over Jellyfin is if you want the streaming channels Plex has. Especially since many of the features Plex has are locked behind a paywall, whereas on Jellyfin they are free.

Game Mode replaces the DE while it’s in use, meaning you don’t have additional battery drain or resource usage while it’s active. that does help battery life, since Game Mode is less resource heavy than KDE. not really a concern on a desktop, sure, but if you’re using a laptop then Game Mode is obviously the superior choice for the benefits it brings.

Bazzite can include a Game Mode for PC users, if you download the correct image. with the caveat that it only works for single user systems.

no, Big Picture mode and Game Mode are two different things. Bazzite does have Game Mode for PCs tho as well.

They didn’t want to.
Honestly, I’m not here to badger people into using Linux. If they feel uncomfortable learning a new system, or they just don’t want to switch, that’s fine with me. To each their own, I got better things to do with my time than trying to peer pressure people into using a particular OS. And honestly, if you disagree with that, then whoever it is you’re pestering probably secretly thinks you’re super annoying.
Funny you should point out cognitive issues. Go back and check the username for the post you just quoted.
