Hopefully it will remain the “Trump era” and not the “first Trump era”. This is my main worry right now.

Meh in Holland we are in NATO and they send Tu-53 bear bombers into our airspace every few months. They are escorted by fighters until they leave. I think they do the same with neighbouring countries like Denmark. It hardly even makes the news anymore, it’s so common.
Bloomberg - Are you a robot?
Lol 😆 No i’m not a robot 🤖
Oh it works great for me. In fact a lot better than the Rift did with its dedicated trackers.
It’s also handy to just pop it on and not have to set it up. I often bring it to the office and I’ve given a demo for friends, it’s much harder with lighthouses.
And the cost of them is just insane. If they were 100 bucks for a couple it’s fine.
Yeah that pattern is called “Pentile” or RGBG. Very annoying indeed on screens where you look right up to the pixels. And it reduces the number of subpixels by 1/3 so the resolution really suffers.
The PSVR1 had a real RGB panel but sadly the PSVR2 moved to pentile.
- Inside-out tracking so you don’t need expensive lighthouses
- Wireless connection
And the longer the time between episodes, the smaller the chance it would generate new sales because existing users lost interest.
True, but with that particular game what didn’t help either was that there were many years between episodes, it was pretty awful. It’s one thing I really hate about episodic gaming. But Valve already proved it to be a failure, only Telltale And Dontnod still do it (and they do it consistently right, to be fair).
The rest of the gaming industry has gone on to “Early access” which is even more awful. Rather than buying the first part of the story for a lower fee, you now pay top dollar for a game which isn’t even finished and never might be because once you pay them there is no real incentive to actually finish it :)
But really, most categories of mobile games don’t interest me. Arcade and other simple crap like angry birds never interested me even in the 80s. Adventures yes but they’re few and far between on mobile and if they are they’re almost always desktop ports anyway. FPS really really sucks on mobile for me, the input is just too crappy and the screens too small.
For me they have always sucked. The only one I liked a bit was “1112” (also known as Fade), BUT the developer actually cancelled the last episode because they didn’t feel like making it anymore 🤬 So yeah it also sucked big time.

Nah. Playstation is the biggest threat to the Xbox. They sell much more than the steam deck. And they know how to sell a console by selling good games and not making only deals with repetitive “AAA” studios that poop out one remaster after another.

Yeah I agree, it’s a better solution. But something that meets the requirement too.
After all if they stop selling the game, why bother with activation? Just patch that shit out.

Which on its own will help to mitigate the problem. This is why it’s not an extinction event.
It’s just that it’s not really a very good “solution” because of all the misery it causes.

Yes but the outcome is just as bad.

But politics is us. This is what democracy is all about.
The problem is the population at large still doesn’t understand the gravity of the situation.

The problem about doomism is that it promotes inaction in the less educated “because things are fucked anyway”.
To be honest I think the doomers are right, not because there isn’t still time to fix most of it (there probably is) but because the political will to actually do it isn’t there. Which is an uphill battle because the more we delay the more drastic measures are needed which require even more political will to actually do. Those two things are getting ever more out of sync. The political will has been slowly increasing but not as fast as as the urgency and need for measures.
But the sentiment that results from doomism makes this political will even worse.

The UK’s MOD did similar, albeit on a smaller scale, for training troops for deployment in Northern Ireland, and Germany/Europe.
Those are and were not their enemies and they were not specific targets. What is so eyebrow-raising here is that it is so specific.
The fact that the Taiwanese don’t agree is neither here nor there.
Uhmm yeah that really does make the difference between an invasion and an amicable unification. I would say what China things is neither here nor there because they don’t own it so they have nothing to say about it.

The plane’s shadow wouldn’t be that big. Because the sun is so far away the plane’s shadow would be the same size as the actual plane (at most a bit stretched when the sun is low). Whereas this is purported to be a life-size mockup.
The plane overlay is probably just added for dramatic effect. The kilometers-long flags are obviously not really there either. And after all, which foreign nation overflies China with military planes? It must have been a sat, not a plane.

Training yes I’m sure. Training of a specific target? I don’t think so. It only makes sense if you’re really planning to attack that target, which is what makes this shocking. Does America have a mockup Kremlin?

I doubt they’ll let that happen. Every regime needs a scapegoat minority to oppress and blame for all their own failings 😢
They’ll just resurrect the iron curtain.

Yeah i think recycling plastic is possible, we just have to pay for it. If the market won’t bear it, simply make it a public service.
We can’t really tackle the climate and keep capitalism at the same time, they are completely contrary.
I’m proud that Spain is taking a stand here. I also love the way they push back on the US with their defence spending thing (which is only for the benefit of their military industrial complex). They also cancelled F-35 orders in response to Trump’s tariffs.
It’s a stark contrast to the Netherlands that let an already-fallen government collapse again just so they didn’t have to say anything untoward to Israel. Such stringpuppets.
