What happens if all posts get downvited?

Like the old Knights of New that would boost the quality posts - only in reverse. As soon as any content hits the site, downvote it to oblivion and keep it there.

They can replace mods, but what if the user base became ungovernable? Remember how we kept The Button going all those months? We can turn Hot, Rising, and Best into a graveyard.

It won’t take much. We all know that if a new post doesn’t get traction early on, no one ever sees it.

If you want to get crazy, we can upvote the crap to the top. Shitposts, antimemes, and the worst of the NSFW subs.

In short, make the site itself work against the wishes of spez.
