It looks way better than TeamViewer or AnyDesk, just like it would be local (similar to how RemoteDektop looks). Of course it can begin to stutter when watching videos ect but everything else is fine.

It can also stream 4K@60fps without quality loss or latency no problem

Sounds like a DB problem. I had to re-create mine earlier this year because it got corrupted somehow, probably through updates. Some actions spawned hundreds of DB workers and the CPU would be stuck at 100%

I run one OPNsense on each of my two proxmox cluster nodes, even with DPI I never had problems reaching 1000MBit/s

I recently learned that during a snapshot backup, all subsequent writes are done on the VM and the Backup server until the backup is finished. So if you have the slightliest performance problems with your backup target, you’ll have increasing I/O delays which can result in timeouts and intimately kernel crashes on the host.
