I hate products with generic names. It makes it utterly impossible to search for.
Even if this OP post might explain it, it is still useless when taken out of context like in the esteemed comment above this one.
/rant, sorry, thank you.

Hah, yes that’s also how I remember my childhood. But I never was good at it, though I became a good software project manager instead which works well for me using Claude now. I count that as a win.

Hey friend, don’t undersell yourself. You do possess the intelligence, but maybe just not the skills.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Question: Is there a Self Hosted Discord like app?English
4 monthsYou se knowledgeable on this, so I hope you’ll allow me to ask this.
I don’t know anything about Discord, but I selfhost the Mattermost chat system for my family. They, too, are narrowing the free tier.
Can Matrix replace Mattermost for a family? Several separate “rooms” for various topics, plus 1-to-1 chats.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Installing **self-hostable** services on a cloud server isn't self-hosting ???English
5 monthsIt is selfhosting when YOU set it up and CONTROL it.
Doesn’t matter what machine it runs on. Not everyone has the option of running a machine at home.

5 monthsWhats so special about 72 hours? It sounds like it would selfdestruct if nobody presses the dead man switch every 3 days?

5 monthsThis release also brings you […] a new font face (“The-name-must-not-be-named” Sans) that improves reading legibility, especially for numbers and smaller text
What’s the story about that font name? I’m out of the loop.
This is confusing. So, Luanti is basically a clone of Minecraft? The docs say how to download the basic platform, and then to download any game.
But where do you start? There’s no recommended or default game or world?

I run it on Docker, works fine that way.

I checked my setup, and webDAV is indeed what I am using. Good that they made it impossible to accidentally use an unsafe method.
Thank you for the explanation!

Isn’t SMB the thing that makes it available to Windows? What’s the issue?
