Am I the only one that does not like any form of fuzzy search?
I’d rather spend the time crafting a regex to find what I’m looking for than seeing things that I explicitly did not search for.

What are some benefits of a vcs being federated?

This looks like it could be an open source alternative to obsidian.md. Would anyone be able to speak to that?

That’s what I currently use but I’ve tested fsh a little and was potentially looking to move. I just have to pull the trigger and see if I regret it or not.

I suspect you may need to allow local ports on your machine for some of these to function as expected.

This is exactly what I do too.
I also like the cloud integration in File Manager Plus and will often use that instead of the respective cloud’s official app.

By the time I learned how to create symlinks I’m Windows, I didn’t need it.

It was also just discontinued so might as well ignore it anyway.

This allows you to have your own local copy to download and install. No GoG launcher required.

Phind.com is a great alternative that provides sources.
It’s worth mentioning you can manually kick off an index build with I believe updatedb (in most cases).

Just a PSA, never ever EVER request deletion of an Oracle free tier if there is any possibility you might want one in the future.

I mean, why not self host an instance of git like forgejo?
I use Alpine. It’s enough for what I need and it doesn’t take up 30G like my last Ubuntu subsystem.

99% of the time, it’s my browser, so I ended up writing a script that watches memory used. If it reaches 95%, it throws a warning, and 98% force kills my browser. I’d rather that happen than my entire system lock up and have to hard reboot.
Just tested and my device is unsupported as my kernel lacks “the required system calls to run PRoot correctly.”
