I bought into the new company launch and my"modern" c64 is on the way. I have two original final ones here but no HDMI adapter, so it’ll be a fun winter break getting back into hacking on it!
That was a fun minute!

That’s the primary draw for plain text files for me!
The last two times I had relatives ask me for remote support to remove the latest super obvious virus they loaded up I just said “Oh, sorry… I don’t really know Windows anymore.” That’s had a 100% success rate.
Yep, that’s how the new one is getting HDMI. They’ve collaborated with several of the major hardware guys and put it all together in a pretty package at a cheaper price then doing it myself. I already have a bunch of hardware, this is just a splurge.
Maybe I’m an idiot, but I ordered one when they announced it. I have 2 perfectly good C64s already but the CRT whine drives my dog and kid nuts, so looking forward to HDMI!

Well Pop is based on Ubuntu, while EndeavourOS is based on Arch. So package availability is a little different. I’ve never really had issues with either but only really checked out Pop for a few weeks. I’m typing this from my EOS rig I play all my games on that’s been stable and happy for maybe a year now.
One distro is fairly similar (or can be made similar) to another more or less if you get into it. I’ve found EndeavourOS pretty damn easy to set up and run for what that’s worth and run it on three different machines right now.
Nothin like the crunch of salt under your keys to really boost that productivity.
