I think its funny that anyone who has closed source software thinks the best place to advertise it is in the federation. I love the fediverse but if it was the fact that it was gnu that I checked it out. I would totally not be here if it was closed source.

I found windows snapping worked better for me with kde plasma than gnome. Outside of that I don’t have much. Im pretty lazy and the fact I finally installed kde is sorta telling on the difference.

It kinda depends. When I want to get going right away I want something that can do everything I need right away but over time I might just want what I use and no more. Right now im using an out of the box distro but I have plans to move to one that does not. If I had not done the out of the box though then I might have used my windows machine more to get something done rather than looking around for what would allow me to get it done on linux.

also I don’t expect my accounts to go forever here. I have had three iterations. kbin, mbin, and piefed. I expect to have another one at some point. I like that stuff changes and new stuff pops up.

1234. just putting in whatever is easy. I like to use a date that is easy to remember so I can keep it consistant especially if it asks me later to verify. I used to use 12/03/1987 but wanted to be younger. 11/11/11 is the gold standard but thats not usable for four years or so.

Im replying to your reply of another person. I have to say what they describe is exactly what I would like to see. sharing and even subscribing to blocklists. Sure its a recreation of a similar structure but thats fine because the user controls it and the transparency thing to me is not an issue because again the user controls it. The main problem here is persistance. Most users are on machines that get turned off. I could kinda see it for chat. If you think about walkie talkies people on on or not. A chat where each instance was a user would be like that. You get on and participate or not. CB’s even have channels yeah.
