Conservatives can openly break the law, and laugh while doing so. Liberals too often lack the spine to make them pay serious consequences, or any consequences at all. I can’t blame people for losing faith in democracy when it’s disintegrating before our eyes.
I would have actually preferred to see him get fired and leave the office in furious humiliation. This is good too, though!
A Twitch stream said Starfield was on. When I looked at the stream, the person who I assume was the streamer was sitting on her bed, DJing bad music, and talking about how she thought canals were natural, not manmade.
I muttered something rude and didn’t keep watching.
I read this wondering if there would be something strange, or an overreaction. There’s nothing like that at all. It’s basically just a law that forces tech companies to respect people and their right to privacy. Most of it is common sense stuff that you think they should do without having to be told.
Then you remember that there’s money involved, and people think ethics are too expensive.
This is a serious, sad article, but it contains one extremely funny line.

Games don’t need better, more complex graphics. They need adequate time and resources during the development process. They need to actually be completed by their release date, not just barely playable. They need to be held to a higher standard of quality when publishers judge if they’re ready to sell.

You know, that occurred to me hours after posting. Most of the money had already been spent before the war even started. It would be even dumber to just let it sit in a hangar and fall apart, like that knockoff space shuttle that they made.
The vast majority of the time, I’m in favor of science. Under Russia’s current conditions, though, it’s just stupid. It’s nothing but an ego boost for Putin.

I honestly can’t even remember the one that first set me off. It’s been a while. I just remember realizing that gravity was more punishing than any of the enemies, and thinking “oh, to hell with this.”
Hate: disproportionately excessive penalties for falls (usually found in platformers).
If you get shot in the face by an enemy, you lose your shield, lose a life, whatever. In a bad platformer, if you don’t time a difficult jump exactly right, you lose a life, lose everything in your inventory, get sent back to the very beginning of the level, get audited, and have to mow the developers lawn for an entire summer.
Platformers are “guilty until proven innocent” - I won’t play one until I know it won’t destroy my will to live.

To me, it should only “matter” for technical reasons - to help find the root of the problem and fix it at the source. If your roof is leaking, then fix the roof. Don’t become an expert on where to place the buckets.
You’re right, though. It doesn’t matter in terms of excusing or justifying anything. It shouldn’t have been allowed to happen in the first place.
