  • It’s easy to get banned from subs, but it’s very hard to get banned from Reddit as a site.

    Not really. I didn’t tone down what I said in my previous comment. The two things I got banned for this week are exactly what I said in my comment above. Very short comments not violating any rules. Banned.

    I also determined they’re handing out auto-bans for certain word combinations. I had a few accounts banned for mentioning the “2nd amendment” coupled with a few other terms in the same comment. Was very careful not to violate any actual site rules, especially after the first ban involving those words. I was pretty sure about this after a few bans, then I saw a whole comment chain of people talking about it as well and that confirmed my theory.

    My last shadowban was a comment that literally just said “Mussolini and Gaddafi”. That’s it. Shadowbanned. You can always tell you’ve been shadowbanned cuz it’ll start telling you that you have to wait between posting comments. Then you can go to Reddit’s appeal page and if you can appeal, it means you’ve been shadowbanned. Or you can use the 3rd party shadowban checker website. And obviously your comments will stop being upvoted/downvoted or commented on because no one can see them.

    And it’s not like they’re catching up to me a day or two later and determining I circumvented their bans. Some of my accounts last months and months. They always all get banned based on a single comment.

    Nah. Reddit is going full shitshow and supporting the rise of fascism in America by censoring users who aren’t even breaking rules. If you’ve been on Reddit long enough, you know the leadership is awful and they’ve been consistently making bad decisions for the platform for years now.

    I’ve always said it and I’ll keep saying it. It’s their platform and they can run it like they want. But I believe the “Front Page Of The Internet” has a responsibility that extends beyond themselves. And, of course, if they choose to keep making shitty decisions, they’re going to keep losing users and we’ll keep seeing an increase in Lemmy activity.

  • I’ve been banned twice this week (so far).

    One for pointing out there will be a rise in terrorism against the US for their actions in the middle east.

    Another one for saying Pam Bondi is such a hated public figure she’s never going to be safe in public again.

    Neither of these comments violate any rules. They are not calls to violence.

    I know how to circumvent Reddit’s methods for keeping banned users off their platform and I know how to check if I’ve been shadowbanned. Most people don’t. So they’re undoubtedly bleeding users at this point due to their automated bot banning garbage. People must be getting auto-banned left and right for things that are clearly not violating policy. And those people aren’t going to come back. I know how to come back and I’m almost done with putting the minimal effort into it.

    Reddit is crashing HARD. And I’m totally into it.

  • “As closely as I could” yet you seem unable to restate the content any better than “I supported the second amendment”.

    Again, you prove you are a mod who doesn’t read comments.

    Read my comments again. I responded to TWO people with a close approximation of the contents of my comment. In one I even stated “that’s actually pretty damn close”.

    So do your mod due diligence and expand the comments and hit CTRL+F and do a search for “that’s actually pretty damn close” to view the comment where I tried to recreate the comment as closely as I could. I just didn’t do it in any of my comments to you because I don’t like you and I’m not repeating myself for you.

    See, this is how I know in your other comment to me that you tested my theory and found it false that you didn’t actually test my theory. Because you’ve made it clear you haven’t read my other comments where I detail the contents of my Reddit comment that got me auto-banned. So there’s no way you could know the key words that all have to be in the comment to receive the auto-ban.

  • Look kid. You can say you tested it all day long. But you’ve already proven you don’t read my comments thoroughly, so not only do I doubt you tested it at all, because clearly you’re on some kind of power trip, but I very much doubt you included all the key words I listed in my comments as I clearly stated the auto-ban requires a series of key words, which I listed in response to people who are better at showing basic respect in their interactions with me.

    You keep asking for evidence. What evidence could I provide from a deleted comment and auto-ban? Are you so full of yourself that you think I’m going to take a screenshot of every comment I make on Reddit so I can show you, some rando on Lemmy, when I get an auto-ban for one of them? And how would you know that my auto-ban was from that comment if Reddit deletes the comment? As a mod on Lemmy’s Reddit sub you must be aware that once you’re auto-banned for a comment you don’t get to see the comment you were banned for. You can only see the sub it was posted in.

    Actually, you know what. Since you’re so concerned about evidence, how about you post a screenshot of the comment you made, clearly showing us that you included all the keywords I listed in my other comments, then show us your comment history to prove to us that comment is still there and that your account hasn’t been banned. Why should I believe anything you say if you don’t provide evidence?

    You believe you’re doing some kind of public service here, but in reality you’re just being really annoying. Find a better way to spend your time. I’ve stopped caring about your opinions and you’ll be blocked going forward. Actually, I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and wait 24 hours to block you to give you time to provide evidence that you tested my theory, as you’ve claimed you have.

  • Dude.

    You’re a moderator.

    Learn how to read.

    When Reddit bans you for a comment they DELETE THE COMMENT.

    I’ve already, in multiple responses to others on this post, tried to detail what was in the comment as closely as I could.

    You sound like you want me to verbatim recreate a comment I posted that was deleted when you probably are well aware that Reddit deletes the comment.

    Is this a mod power trip?

    Screen grabbed.

  • You screen grabbed yourself being afraid to answer a question?

    You’re a mod. Not a good one, but one nonetheless. Your job is to read. Read all my comments, including from today. What other questions do you have? People who aren’t full of themselves asked me good questions which led to me adding more details in some of my comments.

    which I am assuming

    Well, when you assume you make an ASS out of U and ME. Try to do it less. I assure you it was not a direct threat. Whether you believe that is of no consequence to me.

    one who hates misinformation

    Then test it out my man. What better way to confirm it’s misinformation? But again, to be a good mod you need to read ALL my comments to make sure you’re testing under the same set of circumstances that I’ve detailed.

    and has debated removing this post since you made it.

    A mod who removes posts for misinformation without verifying that it’s misinformation is no better than a bad Reddit mod.

    Screen grabbed.

  • I don’t see how it could be based on IP. I don’t do anything IP related during this process and my accounts can last for months before being banned within a minute of posting a pro 2A comment with what I believe are key words the ban bot is looking for.

    I’ve got a VPN, but I’m usually alternating between gaming and Reddit and I’m not gonna run a VPN while I’m gaming. I don’t care enough about Reddit to do that.

  • Yeah, I’ll share it right here. It’s just a script you copy/paste into your browser’s console. Basically, you’re on a page that lists all your subs with a “join” button next to them. The script tells the browser to click the “join” button then move to the next one and click “join”, so on and so forth.

    • Visit https://old.reddit.com/subreddits/ using your old account

    • Copy link address of “multireddit of your subscriptions” you can see on the right side near the top.

    It will give you a link address like this: https://old.reddit.com/r/[subreddit1+subreddit2...+subredditN]

    • Visit that link using your new account.

    • Open the console in your browser by pressing F12 and then click the console tab

    • Paste the code below and press enter (everything I put between the =====)

    ================================================

    const sub = () => {

               let btn = document.querySelector(".add.active");

               if(btn) {

                              btn.click();

                              setTimeout('sub()', 5000);

               } else {

                              alert("You have subscribed to all the subreddits successfully");

                              return;

               }

    }

    setTimeout(‘sub()’, 5000);

    =============================================

    Like I said, it can take a while if you have a lot of subs because of that 5000ms delay between each “click” to prevent Reddit from detecting you’re adding too many subs too quickly. So just leave that tab alone for a while. Then, make sure you refresh that tab when done, because sometimes there will be a few subs that the script didn’t work on for some reason and I just have to find them in the list and manually click the “join” button. Worked fine with every sub on the new account I created yesterday though.

    So when I’m banned I just copy that big “multireddit of your subscriptions” link and paste it into a notepad window temporarily. Then I reset my browser, open it back up and open a private browsing tab, create a new Reddit account, and continue following the steps above. I also have a browser (Brave) set aside specifically for Reddit. That way I can reset my browser and not really care about clearing settings for other sites.

  • I’ve noticed in the last year or so that more and more usernames on Reddit are the auto-generated ones you can opt to use when creating a new account. They all have the same general format. And it’s not like they’re all bots. For the most part they leave comments that are clearly not bot comments. My assumption is that so many people are being banned, so regularly, that when they come back with new profiles they’re just going with the auto-generated usernames because they know they’re just gonna get banned again, so why bother being creative?

  • Bingo.

    Myself, along with everyone else, have spent our lives being influenced by all sorts of things, both obvious and subliminal. I have absolutely read comments online over the course of my life, especially when I was younger, that helped make me more informed or forced me to challenge something I believed.

    I wouldn’t know half the stats I know regarding politics if it wasn’t for comments left by informed individuals online that led me elsewhere to confirm those stats.

  • Ok.

    Figured others had experienced the same thing and wanted to chip in their experiences or, if they cared enough, could test it out on their own.

    Either way, the comment was auto-deleted by Reddit so I’m just paraphrasing anyway.

    I stated that everyone should exercise their 2A right and arm themselves. And if they are already experienced with firearms they should help others who are interested arm themselves and help them train. I also pointed out that, in this political climate, if they want to chat with friends/family about purchasing firearms, they may want to use an end-to-end encrypted messaging app.

    That’s it. That was the content of my comment. None of that is questionable. None of that breaks Reddit site wide rules. None of it is a call to violence. And, not that it matters on a privately owned platform, but all of that is supported by our Constitution.

    Also, why did you say

    Why do you keep saying this

    This is the first post I’ve ever made about this. I’ve never even made a comment on Lemmy about this.
