I have been using a speech-to-text AI system the last day, and I’m using a whisper large 3 turbo Voxstral Small (Mistral) and a rewording model that fixes the sentence but doesn’t rewrite it, and it’s almost perfect. I’m using European-hosted AI through cortecs.ai, and it’s really cheap.

It is two clicks, pretty much instant. The email flow is more work. Testing lots of services fast is a lot easier without email

I like this. I want to be able to quickly test the product and if I like it, I make an account afterwards with my email. So I’ve recently been trying a lot of API services for various things and being able to test it quickly and then just delete my account. I see that as a win. Should have email also

Maybe not, but it would probably grow immensly. The exodus from discord is pretty significant, and matrix is mentioned again and again. It does not have to be that many more users in % from Discord to make matrix a lot more popular than it is today

I am so pissed that Element or any other Matrix app does not support push to talk OR a minimum noise gate. If it did it would clearly get tons of new users, it would be pretty much no question which plattform to replace discord with

Where are the loot boxes and slot machines?

I host everything on my Pi having turned off some logging. When I feel like it I use the command “dd” to copy everything exactly from the sd card to another as a backup with the same size. So when it stops working I just dd the new one to another one and replace the broken one with a new one. The SD cards have not stopped working yet though, after 1 year
