Lemmy is getting there trust me. Go to the politics theme subs and disagree. Even if you stay on their side but disagree on a point, you’ll get a bunch of threats and hate and then a ban without explanation. Many of the people bullied by mods came to Lemmy to become mods and are now the bullies

Lemmy is pretty much there now. Been banned from a few and you either get back a hostile explanation or none at all. Hurt feelings gets you banned. IMO Lemmy shouldn’t have a ban option for mods, let the downvotes do the talking

When you ask for clarification you get the same hostile bullshit that Reddit mods had. Having people mod communities is always gonna fail, because someone with a power trip and hurt feelings will always she the one applying to be the mod

A while ago as a test I literally just typed “guillotine” without context or anything. Perma banned my 5 year old account.
That site is unusable now, I got banned for saying the word guillotine, didn’t even use it in any context. I’ve tried going back and always get banned for ban evasion. It’s a garbage community now, the worst of the worst stayed there
I once got into a debate on a left wing community about the methods to outsmart conservatives. The guy wasn’t agreeing with me, at one point I said “doing the same thing is just lunacy” I was removed and banned for “ableism” That’s the best the mod could come up with to silence my opinion.
