Usually a bug fix that is like 10 years late. Like system not recognizing gamepad as input preventing energy saving mode. Or wayland not supporting disabling Vsync. Or still unfixed bug preventing Wireguard connections autoconnection at startup. Or System just randomly failing to read EDID from the monitor at startup. Or shit not working correctly after wakeup.

I could talk all day.

Kiciński bought GOG and instantly takes it towards new direction. I hope they package Proton into it so it works with Windows games as seamlessly as steam

I started saving what I put into terminal into a Google doc. That way if something gets screwed I have a record for how to undo it.

This is a result of a horrible system philosophy. You do everything through terminal and then scratch your head a year later because you don’t remember what changes you made.

This is the single worst design choices you can possibly make. Not only requiring from user to learn terminal wizardry but also manually tracking every single config change because there’s no “reset to default” button

It was a great clusterfuck of frustration for me and other Ubuntu users

The biggest issue for last ~8 years was that wayland was promoted as “superior” while lacking even most basic functions.

V-Sync control? Nope. Hidpi scaling? Nope. Only in 2024 it got to the point where it’s actually usable and these features were implemented.

After 13 years of developmemt issues like that are sometimes patched.
