Nice! Browsing by All here works great, just block the communities you aren’t interested in. I started out subscribing to ones I wanted but the smaller scale makes All decently readable. If there’s a community you wish was here feel free to start it!

I browse by c/All here, usually open a dozen or so tabs. Pretty regularly I come back to them hours later to read through them and at least one or two has the Error Post not Available message so the issue is present on Lemmy too, probably not to the same degree but still. I haven’t put effort in to figure out which kinds of posts get purged but maybe I should.

6 monthsI think most people find the nicknames tiresome and I personally think less of anyone I see writing stupid shit like that. Could be a psyop to discredit Trump detractors by making them seem ridiculous with all the dumb name calling. Outside of a particular bubble you never see that shit.

I suppose not a problem if you don’t want any innovation in the engine of the game and just want to re-skin something someone else made.

2 yearsI seem to remember Leisure Suit Larry verified age using trivia questions that only older people would answer correctly. I know this because at 8 years old I guessed enough of them on my father’s friends computer to play it.

I definitely remember short 2 or 3 second clips of relatively high quality music being played through our family’s IBM XT’s motherboard speaker at one point using a demo we got from a BBS or the Public Domain Software site in the mid-80s. It wasn’t easy but some madman made a proof-of-concept that did it and it was incredible at the time.

Reddit@lemmy.world•It's been around a year since a lot of us quit Reddit, myself included. I'm happy with Lemmy, but I still feel a bit lost online since leaving the old site. Discussion?English
2 yearsLemmy is missing the small communities and frankly, most of the medium sized communities that Reddit has. I don’t find the userbase that toxic but of course there is the occasional twat to deal with, luckily the blocking system is more robust than Reddit’s. Hopefully user growth will continue and people that still use Reddit will promote Lemmy and the Fediverse there enough to feed the exodus.

There should be, yeah theres some real… eccentric folks here. Maybe a future update will allow “block community” right from the post. Not to my knowledge, apart from going to your user profile settings and typing it into the actual block list.
