Counterpoint.
What if they do and you die anyway?
This is why you need to be cryptic and give a task that is ambiguous so they will wonder for the rest of their lives what they did wrong.

“Send this to 3 people that love you or I will die”
Even if they decide to send it, that will have them wondering forever who of the 3 doesn’t love them lol

That’s me. I don’t get it. At all. Can someone help my smooth brain understand?

In this scenario you know that you’re going to die. You also know that no one takes those chain message threats seriously anymore. Therefore, your friend will obviously not forward it to 10 other people and then they will discover that you died 5 minutes later. So you would be gone and diabolical part is inflicting all that survivor’s guilt on your friend

Oh shit I was looking for some deeper meaning and wrote off that first thought right away lol. Thank you!

So this comm is a place to advertise reddit and repost meme content that was posted to reddit? And people on lemmy are upvoting this? Bizarre.

Pretty sure it violates rule 9. That said I wouldn’t mind a c/CuratedReddit. I don’t go there so reposts would be new to me!

Me neither. It’s the same as the /TikTokCringe subreddit which Ive had subscribed to to see some curated TT content (other than the name suggests they don’t post only cringe content but anything interesting).
Just because I don’t like a platform and decide to not use it that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy the content from there.

Last time I looked at this community it was to discuss things about reddit (e.g. admin/mods decisions etc.)

No, no.
It has to be “If you don’t share this to 10 people in 5 days, YOU will die”. That way, they’ll think you died because you didn’t share it to enough people.
