Liquid glass coming soon.
True. The AI parents are having issues. We all know OpenAI is hemorrhaging money. I think Anthropic is as well. They are all passing money between each other. But software companies, like the one I work for, don’t care what those companies are doing. As long as my company can use services provided by the AI parents, it’s not an issue if the AI parents themselves are losing money. Or if software companies can shove out their own AI feature (like the AI in ServiceNow or how Office 365 is getting some rebranding), all is well and they can brag about having AI to the shareholders.
I get what you are saying and agree. But corporations doing give a fuck. As long as they can keep seeing increased profits from it, it’s coming. It’s not about code quality or time or humans. It’s about profits.
Don’t forget that a lot of that code has lasted for 50 years cause corporations were too cheap to update/upgrade. Profits > tech debt.
Been the sme and completely architected and implemented the entire middleware server farm for my last company. First in ibm after taking it over from someone else that started it, just a here you go takeover. Then moving from an ibm shop to oracle, cause the vp wanted a gold star and wouldn’t listen to anyone. I left when they were moving to red hat when the next vp came in and wanted their gold star. Little over 400 servers. Been there done that.
If it allows to kick out code faster to meet whatever specs/acceptance criteria laid out before me, fine. The hell do I care if the code is good or bad. If it works, it works. My company doesn’t give af about me. I’m just a number. No matter how many “we are family” speeches they give. Or try to push the “we are all a team and will win”….we aren’t all a team. Why should I care more than “does it work”. As long as profits go up, the company is happy. They don’t care how good or pretty my code is.
Um. I’d do it.
Just ask ai to read the code base and tell you.
Just ask AI to figure it out.
Windows ME. Notepad.
Which is why AI and vibe coding will survive. Besides the part where it’s not my code, the company owns it. The fuck do I care how good it is. If it works and gets me a promoted or moved to a new spot in a different company. Heck yeah. Issues down the road are not my problem.
No. That just hurts its feelings and then it stops responding.
Did they ask it nicely to not make mistakes?
Feeling that. My company is off shoring and out sourcing a lot of stuff now. It’s a nightmare. But profits are up. So hey, who cares if the software is held together with hopes and dreams. And our hosted services admins don’t have a clue.
This is why I half ass things with AI. Mgmt clearly doesn’t care.
I’m still waiting to be replaced by robots and computers.

Coming soon. Daily certs. Just $19.99 a month.
I just write mediocre shit cause I know my company doesn’t give af about me. Code works, ship it. It’s not my personal passion project. They own the code and IP, I’m not taking it with me . It’s a job, for a company that would gladly replace me in a heart beat. Not to mention, I don’t get paid more money if my code is the most beautiful code ever, or barely works.
Did you give it permission to do it? No. Did you tell it not to do it? Also, no. See, there’s your problem. You forgot to tell it to not do something it shouldn’t be doing in the first place.
Just add it after ai writes everything else then.
