You don’t test in production?
I also wouldn’t take a job that required using Windows. Yuck!

World News@beehaw.org•The ‘Staples Baddie’ Goes Viral: How One Employee’s TikTok Is Reinvigorating the Massive Brand
4 monthsI find the story endearing, if only because Staples is almost dead as a brand and this likely trans girl is giving them a shot in the arm and making them cool again. All of this is happening during the dark ages of DEI when Republicans are sharpening their knives for such people and brands have backed away from LGBTQ representation after what happened with Bud Light.
Many things can be true depending on the narrative you choose. But, damn, some times you gotta look for a little light.

4 monthsI see a story about someone who is likely LGBTQ getting support from a prominent brand during peak anti-DEI days.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•HelixNotes now on Android, same Rust + Tauri codebaseEnglish
4 monthsIn practice this app competes with StandardNotes and Notesnook. People using those might be interested in switching, but they’ll want encryption as a feature of the app.

4 monthsIt’s a pretty polished notes app, though couldn’t see that it supports encryption.

4 monthsA lot of those posts will also include shit like must know XML and AJAX and it’s clear the recruitment division hadn’t updated their template in ages.

Programming@programming.dev•Memory is running out, and so are excuses for software bloat
6 monthsJust glad I invested in 64GBs when it only cost $200. Same ram today is nearly $700.
I think the issue is “all during,” which reads as if the memory shortage has been going on for the decade, or a sizeable portion of it in which electron has been around.
But it’s not like electron apps became an industry standard now that there is a memory shortage. I also don’t think there is an increase in electron apps now that there is a memory shortage. These things are not connected in the way the meme suggests. Is it more problematic since memory is more expensive? Sure, maybe for some people running old hardware that want to upgrade. Otherwise, a lot of people already have plenty of memory to run these apps.
Electron apps existed and were a standard years before this current memory shortage. There is no connection there.
Electron apps are on Linux too
I used to be a very engaged music listener. I loved it and would put effort into listening to albums start to finish. When Spotify took over, my habits changed and now I don’t really actively follow music or pay much attention to what I’m listening to.

Just make Codex write the code for it. Should be easy. Don’t even need humans. Right?
