• It’s true. They changed the platform and improved my overall experience by making me not want to use it.

My last post on Reddit got removed.

      It was “🖕🤡🖕u/spez”

But apparently that’s considered a personal attack.

I think it was the emoji though, because I was once banned for posting “🖕” too, which was nothing personal. I guess they just don’t like emojis.

I love pixel art and am a retro nerd, and I still don’t like that change.

It looks SO BAD. The Snoo feels weirdly squished vertically. What happened to the ears?

Guys can we forget for good about the old country?

  • I guess they try to cling onto their most successful community event with the pixel-canvas, as there is not a lot they can still be proud of?

    • 3 years

I guess they will have to moderate / censor it this year because I have a feeling huge portions of the canvas will be about /u/Spez

      • Oh man, imagine a huge part of the canvas being ‘FEDIVERSE’ or ‘LEMMY.’

        • 3 years

I think that’s inevitable this time. I could imagine they consider a whole new community event this year because of potential protests.

        • It would be great if the next iteration of /r/place was just absolutely spammed with lemmy/kbin/mastodon/fediverse/etc logos lol

It was quite emotional for me a month ago tbh. But Lemmy has been fantastic and I’ve moved on.

This whole fiasco has demonstrated to me that way too many users had a bizarre and unhealthy attachment to a friggin link aggregator…

        • It’s a discussion forum. Calling it just a link aggregator is aggressively dishonest.

        • It is a similar atrachment to the one you’d get to an old message forum. For me, it is more about the people and the super niche communities than about reddit itself. It is going to take a while to rebuild on Lemmy what was already on Reddit. In that regard, I am a little sad to have let it go, but oh well.

        • You can make anything sound ridiculous if you ignore the primary thing people use it for.

Like, I don’t get why people pay hundreds of dollars for airline tickets. What’s the appeal of sitting in a crowded metal tube for a few hours?

I’m surprised Apple approved this for the App Store. Extorting money for an icon, and posting something that looks low quality or like a bug.

  • 3 years

That rating is awfully high. Would be a shame if something happened to it …

  • I’d love to hop on the hate bandwagon. But I’ve got enough reasons to hate reddit. Given r/place opens up very shortly I would wager it’s a temporary icon in pixel art for the pixel art event… just a guess.

If I’m wrong that should absolutely violate AppStore guidelines though.

    • Given that they give you the option to pay to get the old reddit icon back… It might be temporary but the old icon is not coming back.
